NEW IN THE POGA - canistherapy!

Canistherapy is used in Latvia, but so far it has not been included in the rehabilitation process. We are proud that at the POGA center, rehabilitation classes include canistherapy, where a certified audio-speech therapist works with two purebred silk dogs.

Canistherapy is used in Latvia, but it is not included in the rehabilitation process. The inclusion of canistherapy in the rehabilitation process is evaluated as a benefit by both parents and functional specialists. The dog is a therapy tool that makes it easier for the functional specialist to establish contact with the patient. Canistherapy promotes the development of speech and language, self-care skills and improves the patient's psycho-emotional state. 2 Maltese silk dogs work in canistherapy, the specialist is a certified audiologist and works in a multidisciplinary team together with POGAS specialists. The price of one lesson is 50 EUR, an average of 6 lessons will be recommended during one course.
